I love the beauty and power of the BMW. But, I have never been able to justify owning one myself and here's why:
- It is a gas guzzler that is harmful to the climate and to all the societies that are exploited for energy.
- It is expensive. Buying one diverts valuable funds from the hundreds and thousands of charitable causes around the globe.
- Its powerful engine is wasted driving within the paltry speed limits of most roads and highways. A fuel efficient, inexpensive Honda or Toyota is good enough.

While I agree in general, I must confess I am in a dilemma. Where do we stop? Eating meat, beef especially, causes global warming. Milk is for babies. Period. For the rest of us it is pure indulgence. What about ice-cream? Sugar? Alchohol? Cigarettes?Diamonds? In fact a BMW is like a diamond. It serves no purpose other than telling the world that you have arrived. The entire animal kingdom indulges in a lot of waste as part of the mating and social standing process. so even if BMW is closed people will find alternate ways to splurge.
